Vellum Stems

Good morning, Friends! Monday is here once again! But the kiddos around here don't mind as they have another week of spring break! Woohoo! And today looks to be a much better day weather wise than yesterday! Wow! We had wind gusts of 62 mph!! It did rain a little so that helped to keep the dust down a bit. Crazy weather! March is definitely going out like a lion around these parts!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on the Hero Arts website. I thought our new designer vellum would work great and I do like how this one turned out!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Pool Party, stamp the greeting from Four You in VersaMark and emboss with white emboss powder
  • Stamp the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge using Whisper White craft ink then adhere panel to card base
  • Make a tag from Whisper White card stock
  • Adhere a piece of Silver foil designer vellum to the white tag and then cut the corners to make the tag shape
  • Cut two stems from Whisper White card stock using the Little Leaves sizzlet and adhere them together then adhere them to the tag with glue dots
  • Tie a piece of Pool Party seam binding ribbon around the tag and adhere tag to card with dimensionals

Pacific Starburst

Good morning, Friends! It is really dark and dreary looking outside today. I think that is one reason I slept so late this morning! I thought that the sun hadn't come up yet - lol! I guess it is supposed to be VERY windy today and maybe rain. Ugh! I just hate it when it is windy like that! My allergies go nuts! I guess I will be staying in all day to try to avoid another allergy mishap. It might be quite as bad if it would rain. At least my car is in my garage and can't get as dusty as it used to being outside!! Love that! Being inside won't be that bad today. Basketball games, sewing and probably some stamping, too! Sounds pretty good!!

For today's card I used the new Starburst Sayings stamp set and coordinating framelits. I debated getting this set and finally caved. I love the sayings and definitely the framelits! And I used this week's Create with Connie and Mary color challenge! Wait… I think I used Daffodil Delight instead of Summer Starfruit. But a Summer Starfruit flower would look just as great!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • A layer of Whisper White was run through the Big Shot with the Arrows embossing folder and then adhered to the card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the image from Starburst Sayings in Pacific Point onto Whisper White and cut out with the coordinating Starburst framelits
  • Adhere a piece of Smoky Slate 3/4" Chevron Ribbon to the back of the stamped image with glue dots then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to card
  • Adhere a Pacific Point candy dot to flower center
Super easy card! I'm so excited that the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions edition started today! You can still sign up!

Gold Dot Birthday

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for a great weekend? Looks to be a beautiful day around here! I am so loving these warmer spring like days! Nick is loving his two weeks of spring break, too! He has one more week of it and I know that he will not waste one minute of it - lol! I think that more mountain biking is in order this weekend. My son is trying to get me to go, too, and I just may try it this weekend. We will see…

Today's card was inspired by last week's sketch at Freshly Made. It's not my favorite but I wanted to try out some of the new designer foil vellum. I know that I am late to the party on this but I just finally "had" to have it! So I am enjoying using these products!! This was my first attempt at using the new vellum.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere a piece of the gold designer foil vellum to the top part of a piece of Whisper White (I put adhesive to the back of the vellum only where the gold dots are)
  • Punch a strip of Basic Black with the scallop edge border punch and adhere to panel
  • Stamp the greeting from Petite Pairs in black StazOn onto the panel
  • Tie a piece of the gold twine around the panel and adhere to a piece of Basic Black
  • Adhere panel to card base with dimensionals
That's all there is to it! Did you get a chance to take the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Design Team blog hop yesterday? This special edition starts tomorrow! I hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Connie and Mary have been sharing super cute card sets! Now the design team is doing a blog hop that features one stamp set they are using for this special edition. So you probably came from Debbie Henderson's blog. I always enjoy her designs!

My card today features the Peachy Keen stamp set. I will be using this set during week three of this special edition. I love this stamp set and coordinating framelits! They all just work perfectly together! And I love how the Retro Fresh designer paper adds the fun to these products!

  • Card base is Tangerine Tango cut at 11" x 4 1/4" and folded in half to create the card base
  • Cut a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper at 4" x 3 1/4" and flag the bottom then adhere to card base
  • Use the On Film framelits to cut the filmstrip from Baked Brown Sugar and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the sentiment from Peachy Keen onto a strip of Very Vanilla that measures 3/4" x 3" using Coastal Cabana ink and flag the end
  • Take the camera framelit and lightly "moosh" it into the Baked Brown Sugar ink pad then use it to cut the camera shape from So Saffron card stock
  • Adhere the camera shape to the card and add a Tangerine Tango candy dot to the camera lens
A super simple card! I hope that you are as excited as I am for the Card "Create"tions to begin! It won't be long now! So be sure that you get signed up! Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous week! Create with Connie and Mary have a fabulous new challenge this week! This week it's a color challenge! Take a look!

I never would have put these colors together on purpose - lol! I love Smoky Slate! Pacific Point kind of scares me because it is really "out there". And Summer Starfruit has a love/hate relationship. Well, thanks to Connie and Mary, I had to put these all together and guess what? They are gorgeous together!! Take a look!

I was really happy with how this turned out!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Use the corner rounder to round the bottom corners
  • Stamp the Hardwood background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Smoky Slate ink and round bottom corners
  • Adhere this panel to a piece of Whisper White that also has the bottom corners rounded
  • Tie a piece of Summer Starfruit stitched satin ribbon around this layer and adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Flag the bottom of a strip of Pacific Point and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the sentiment from Perfect Pennants onto a piece of Whisper White and punch out with the 2 1/2" circle punch then adhere to card
  • Stamp the flower image from Petite Petals five times onto a piece of Whisper White using Summer Starfruit ink
  • Punch flowers out with the Petite Petal punch and adhere them to the card with dimensionals and glue dots

Perfect Pennant Wish

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going great! It sure has been nice being able to be at home with no schedule! We are loving these carefree spring break days! Pat and Nick went on another mountain bike ride yesterday. Looks like the weather is going to change a little the next two days but nothing major for us. Snow in the mountains is always a good thing when I don't have to travel over them!

Today's card was inspired by a birthday card that my friend Emily gave me. I also made this up for a swap that I was in recently! The banners framelits make this an easy card to put together!

  • Card base is Real Red
  • Run a piece of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot with the Arrows embossing folder and then adhere to card
  • Use the Banners framelits to cut banners from Coastal Cabana and one from the Fresh Prints designer paper and adhere together then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the Banners framelits to cut a banner from Whisper White
  • Stamp the greeting from Perfect Pennants in Real Red onto the banner and then again on a scrap of Whisper White with Coastal Cabana ink
  • Cut the middle part from the Coastal Cabana one out and adhere to banner with glue dots
  • Stamp the dots image from Perfect Pennants in Crumb Cake at the bottom of the banner
  • Tie a piece of Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon around the banner and adhere to card with dimensionals
Today is Meet the Team day at Create with Connie and Mary! They are introducing the team for the Card "Create"tions edition! I hope you will join us!

    Butterfly Sorbet

Good morning, Friends! Well it's the start of the two week spring break for our kiddos around here! So Nick is happily sleeping in! The weather looks to be really nice, too! I am so bummed that both my Kansas teams lost yesterday! Soooo close!! That last second shot just wouldn't fall for us. I was so nervous for WSU's game that I had to make myself busy so I went and created cards while the game was going on. I could hear the tv and every once in a while I would peek to see what was going on. What a heartbreaker that one was. But they still are winners to me! a 35-0 run for the season! Who could be upset about that? Looking forward to the next big upset!!

My inspiration for my cards yesterday came from looking through past Stampin' Up! magazines. And this was one of them!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • Use the Banners framelits to make a banner from Sweet Sorbet designer paper and adhere to card
    • Adhere a strip of Basic Black card stock to card
    • Stamp the greeting from Sweet Essentials in black StazOn onto a strip of Whisper White and flag the end then adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Tie a piece of Pool Party twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack through a Basic Metal button and adhere to card
    • Use the Bitty Butterfly punch to punch two butterflies from some Sweet Sorbet designer paper and adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Add rhinestones to butterfiles

    Freshly Made 128

Good morning, everyone! What a gorgeous day is in store for us here on the Western Slope! Yesterday turned out to be chilly and windy and a bit rainy. It didn't rain enough to make a difference but every now and then it did spit enough to make it cold. But today is different! Woohoo! Love spring! My guys are going on a mountain bike ride today. I will be watching some basketball (two of my teams will be playing today) and I hope to stamp some. Having the sun shine outside gets me motivated to do something! :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I also used some inspiration from a card that my friend Becky made!

    • Card base is Crisp Cantaloupe
    • On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the leaf image from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn twice and colored them in with a Pistachio Pudding marker and outlined the image with a Soft Sky marker
    • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn
    • Adhere a piece of Sweet Sorbet designer paper to the bottom part of the panel
    • Adhere panel to a piece of Basic Black
    • Adhere a strip of Basic Black to the front of the panel and tie a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack around it
    • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the flower image onto a piece of Whisper White with black StazOn and color image in with Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit and Pistachio Pudding markers
    • Cut image out and adhere to card with dimensionals (you may have to trim the stem of the flower off so it doesn't show)
    • Add a rhinestone
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    Mojo 337

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous start to the weekend! We have a meeting with the soccer coach who will be taking a group of boys and some of their parents (me included) to Brazil this summer. We have to get some papers signed and notarized for visas. As I look outside right now it is very cloudy and gloomy! I hope it does rain! Spring rain! The best!! So March Madness?? Wow!! Some very fun and exciting games yesterday! I always feel sorry for those seniors that lose. I am sad for them but I am excited for the winners, too. Sport… I am looking forward to more games!!

Today's card was inspired by Mojo Monday's sketch challenge. This was actually pretty quick and easy! Love these On Film framelits!

    • Card base is So Saffron
    • Run a strip of Coastal Cabana through the Big Shot using the Arrows embossing folder then adhere to card base
    • Adhere a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper to the card
    • Stamp the sentiment from Peachy Keen in Coastal Cabana onto a piece of Very Vanilla then adhere to card
    • Cut a piece of Baked Brown Sugar with the filmstrip die from the On Film framelits and adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Cut the camera image with the On Film framelits from Tangerine Tango and adhere to card with a dimensional
    • Add a rhinestone to the camera lens

    Washi Easter Eggs

Good morning, Friends! The school kiddos are excited around here! Today is the last day of school before spring break! Woohoo! Then they will have two weeks off before finishing off the year! I'm so excited for all of them, too! Nick is looking forward to riding his new bike! So I am a BIG March Madness fan! And I am so excited that it has started! It has been really fun to watch all the games. I have my remote control programmed with the channels to make switching a bit easier - lol! Today is a big day for me as three of my Kansas teams play! So excited to see what will happen!

Today's card was one that I did with my shoebox club this month. I had seen a canvas project that made a washi egg and thought that I could do that with our products!!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • To make the washi eggs, I cut a piece of Whisper White and adhered strips of the Gingham Garden washi tape down at a diagonal until the whole thing was covered then I used the extra large oval punch to punch the three eggs out
    • To make the grass I cut a strip of Pear Pizzazz card stock and used the fringe scissors to make the cuts
    • The grass is adhered to a piece of Whisper White
    • Tie a piece of white baker's twine around the bottom part of the grass then adhere the panel to a piece of Night of Navy
    • Adhere the panel to the card base with dimensionals
    • Adhere the eggs to the front panel just behind the fringed grass part
    • Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Night of Navy onto the card base
    • Add rhinestones wherever you wish - lol (mine are on the eggs and beside the greeting)
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    Blooming Vellum

Good morning, everyone! I think that I am getting back to the land of the living. Ugh! My allergies have taken over and I can't seem to get rid of them! I have been really sick. We came home Sunday evening from the basketball tournament and I went straight to bed. Today I feel like I have dried up a bit but I still have the raging migraine. I hope that I will be able to get rid of that soon. So very miserable!! And I hope that it doesn't hurt as bad so I can get back to doing some stamping! I've gotten some new goodies that I want to play with! By the way… our boys lost to the other Fruita team (there were enough Fruita boys to make two teams) in the semi-finals. Bummer!! But it was a very fun weekend!

Today's card was an experiment. I wanted to see what this stamp would look like embossed on vellum and then sponged with color behind it. I think it came out o.k. Not my favorite but it's not terrible. Here are the details:

    • Card base is Crumb Cake
    • I adhered a piece of Fresh Prints designer paper to a piece of Whisper White (both the same size) together
    • Stamp the flower image from Blooming Kindness onto a piece of vellum that has been flagged at the bottom using VersaMark and emboss with white emboss powder
    • On the back of the vellum piece, use a sponge dauber and Coastal Cabana ink to apply color
    • Adhere the vellum piece to the dsp by using mini brads in the top corners
    • Tie a piece of Crumb Cake 3/8" taffeta ribbon around the panel and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
    • Stamp the greeting from Blooming Kindness in black StazOn onto the card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Blooming Kindness; Paper- Crumb Cake, Whisper White, vellum, Fresh Prints designer paper; Ink- black StazOn, VersaMark, Coastal Cabana; Accessories- Crumb Cake 3/8" taffeta ribbon, mini brads, white emboss powder, sponge dauber, dimensionals

    Yellow Tulips

Good morning, Friends! It's another early morning as we head back to Montrose for the final day of the basketball tournament. We actually don't have to be there quite so early but the other Fruita 8th grade team is playing and we want to watch them. We might face them in the semi-finals! So exciting! And so much talent from these 8th graders! Anyway, it's a must win to advance kind of day!! Nick is having a blast and that's all that matters!

Today's card was one I made quite a while ago. I really liked how this one turned out!

    • Card base is Naturals Ivory
    • Adhere a strip of Gingham Garden designer paper down the left hand side of the card
    • On a layer of Naturals Ivory, stamp the Blessed Easter stamp in black StazOn and watercolor the image with a blender pen and Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight inks
    • Use the Occasions paper piercing pack to pierce an oval around the stamped image
    • Adhere a strip of Basic Black card stock to the left hand side of the stamped panel and then adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Add three small pearls
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Today's card was inspired by one I had pinned quite a while ago.

    • Card base is Whisper White

Boy am I all plugged up!! Yuck! I slept in a little to try to sleep off the medicine. Still groggy but I hope a shower and coffee will get it out of my system. No time to rest this weekend! Sweet Sorbet Pennant

Good morning, Friends! I'm so glad we are on the downhill side to the weekend! Nick said his first day of testing went very well! And it sounds like they had a lot of fun afterwards when a bunch of them went to a cafe for lunch! They are doing it again today, too! Wow! They grow up so fast! I'm glad that he has so many friends to hang out with! I am hoping that I can get a lot of personal stamping done today. I seem to be running out of cards for my blog! I had been doing so well and then I needed to get some swaps done, design commitments done and I have gotten myself ahead on a few projects so now it's time to get back to stamping just for my blog. So a nice stamping day it will be!!

Today's card was inspired by a card that my friend Emily gave me for my birthday.

    • Card base is Crisp Cantaloupe
    • On a layer of Basic Black, adhere a piece of Sweet Sorbet designer paper at the top and a piece of Pool Party that was run through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (make sure to leave a little Basic Black showing through between the layers)
    • Tie a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack around the panel and adhere to the card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the greeting from Perfect Pennants with black StazOn onto Whisper White and cut out with the Banners framelits then adhere to card

He and a group of friends are going to have lunch together at a local pizza place. I thought that sounded like fun!!

Good morning, Friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are ready for a new week! Seems like those weekends just fly by! The boys lost their soccer game yesterday. And that was a real bummer! It means that we won't be in the State Cup tournament. :( I know the boys really wanted to win. I guess they will have to try it again next year. So now we just play the games for the season and hope that we win our division and can move up to the next level. And so our busy soccer season begins! The weather yesterday felt like summer almost! Wow! We were really hot and I didn't dress accordingly. I finally took off my shoes to help cool down a bit. I got sunburned on my feet - lol!! It felt so good! But now it is supposed to snow again on Tuesday (in Denver, rain in our area). Yep! It's that crazy spring weather!!

Today's card was one that I had made quite a while ago. It was inspired by the sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges

    • A layer of Baked Brown Sugar was run through the Big Shot using the Arrows embossing folder then adhered to the card with dimensionals

    • Add three mini brads to banner then adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Stamp greeting from Geometrical in Coastal Cabana onto Very Vanilla and flag the ends then adhere to card
    • Punch a circle from So Saffron with the 1/2" circle punch and adhere to card

    Purple Pierced Sympathy

Hello everyone! Did you all get your clocks forwarded an hour? I am so happy that we left for Denver yesterday so that we could sleep in and not worry about getting up early to drive over the mountains. I feel pretty rested but it does seem strange to lose that hour. It will be nice to have more daylight, though!

Today's card was created several weeks ago. Let's see if I remember how I did it - lol!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • On a layer of Whisper White use the Occasions paper piercing pack to pierce and oval (might be kind of hard to see in the photo)

    CMCC 8

Good morning, Friends! Are you glad it's Friday? We sure are around here! Nick didn't have school today so we all got to sleep in and that was wonderful! Looks like it rained a bit last night. Nothing major planned today. I hope to get more stamping done and then some stitching tonight with friends!

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Colour Me. This challenge was from a few weeks ago but I just loved the subtle colors! I scrolled through some old cards that I had done (many) years ago and found this layout. That was kind of fun to do! I think I might use some of my favorite layouts from years past! Anyway, here are the details:

    • Card base is Soft Sky
    • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the flower image from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn and color with Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar markers
    • Then adhere a piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock to the left side
    • Run a piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock through the big shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder and then adhere to the right side of the stamped panel
    • Tear the Pistachio Pudding piece to the size desired
    • Tie a piece of Whisper White taffeta ribbon around the panel and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
    • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn onto the card base
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Peaceful Petals; Paper- Soft Sky, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White; Ink- black StazOn, Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar; Accessories- Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Decorative Dots embossing folder, dimensionals
